PROMOTION AND ADVERTISING:

For our exhibition, we will promote it using traditional print advertisements including posters around college and the surrounding cultural industries quarter; leaflet distribution in the City center and in local independent shops and restaurants. Using print advertisements to promote our event is a fairly cheap and easy method to execute.

We will also use social media to advertise our event by creating accounts of Twitter, Facebook and a website with a blog. All of these advertising outlets will be regularly updated to maintain a ‘buzz’ surrounding our event.
Advertising online is easily accessible, completely free and will reach the target demographic quickly and effectively – most stakeholders including staff, students and even parents regularly access social media. We will use independent radio station ‘Sheffield Live’ to broadcast adverts to the proportion of the audience that are local creatives, regarding our event.

Another method of marketing we will use is an innovative and creative way of promotion, known as ‘guerrilla marketing’. In the CIQ, there are many dilapidated buildings and graffiti walls. We will hire a graffiti artist to paint an advert for our exhibition onto one of these walls, incorporating both information and art to promote our event.
